Christmas

December 2010 – This was the first Christmas since they were 14 months old that we were with Adam’s family for Christmas. They have a lot of fun traditions that we were excited to introduce our kids to.

/
/
/
/The kids make candy houses every year.
/
/
/
/
/
/And then they take a picture of them in front of the tree.
/
/
/
/
/
/With more of the cousins.
/
/
/
/
/
/I don’t know if you can see it, but Caisen not only decorated his candy house, he filled it with candy. He is taking my food storage efforts to heart.
/
/
/
/
/
/We went to Temple Square to see the lights. We were supposed to meet Mark and Cheri and family, but there was a David Archuletta concert with the MoTab that night, and we got stuck in some serious traffic. They had to catch their train home before we got there. We were sad to miss them.

/
/
/
/
/Great Grandpa reading the nativity at a family party (one of several family parties. We were rocking the Christmas season this year!)
/
/
/
/
/
/Daisy and Great Grandpa having a serious conversation.
/
/
/
/
/
/We took a ride on the North Pole Express with all the cousins. That train ride was one of the highlights of their year. They are still obsessed with trains, much to Granddad’s delight.
/
/
/
/
/
/Standing in front of an engine.
/
/
/
/
/
/Passengers on the way to the North Pole. Everyone got hot chocolate and a cookie.
/
/
/
/
/
/On Christmas Eve we did the Nativity. Grandma has spent years accumulating costumes. Caisen is a wise man.
/
/
/
/
/
/Kimball is a shepherd.
/
/
/
/
/
/Brinlee with the chorus of angels.
/
/
/
/
/
/And a Daisy angel.
/
/
/
/
/
/Acting out the story.
/
/
/
/
/
/By the time I got to take a picture of everyone in the chaos, they were DONE. It was late and they were tired.
/
/
/
/
/
/They got to open a gift from a cousin and from Grandma and Grandpa.
/
/
/
/
/
/The kids opening their helmets.
/
/
/
/
/
/Mom, this is really heavy!
/
/
/
/
/
/Awesome. We have helmets. Now what?
/
/
/
/
/
/Big kid bikes!! Our original plan had been to give them bikes for their birthday right after we arrived, but at the last second, we were convinced to give them Leapsters for the trip across the country (which was a good choice). We sold their trikes when we moved, because of the original plan, but when we got here and the weather was still nice for about a week, they kept asking and asking for their trikes. It was a long 2 months of making excuses as to why they had no trikes.
/
/
/
/
/
/Caisen ready to roll.
/
/
/
/
/
/Great Grandpa used to take all the cousins bowling the morning after Christmas, which our kids never got to do with him, but they had fun participating in his tradition.
/
/
/
/
/
/The kids had a great time.
/
/
/
/
/
/I bowled my usual 80-ish.
/
/
/
/
/
/This is something they will enjoy a lot as they get older.
