Pictures by Request

A gran who misses her grandkids made a request for some new pictures. I hadn’t realized how long it’s been. Last week was pretty wild. I took plenty, I just hadn’t loaded them.

/A quick update. They are still talking about sending the kids home at the end of the week. We are excited to have them home, but we want them to be ready to be here. Kimball and Brinlee are both eating very well from breast and bottle. Today they both seemed much more energetic. They’ve had all bottles for a few days. Today they are taking them in 10-15 minutes. They also both breastfed well today. Sawyer is still not eating as well. He has taken all bottles the last 2 days, but it takes a lot of work on both sides to get it down. His sucks are very disorganized and he doesn’t keep a very good seal on the nipple. I think he is still pretty pooped from the bottle increases. I hope we will see the same energy increase we saw with the other two.

/What is so interesting is that Kimball was born the smallest, and stayed the smallest for quite a while, but he is the most advanced now. If we pushed, they would send him home Wednesday, but we want to wait and make sure he is ready. He eats the best and has the fewest episodes. He was also advanced more slowly with the bottles (though I’m not sure why since he has consistently eaten well). I think he didn’t get as tired since they advanced him more slowly. That’s my professional medical opinion. 🙂

/Sawyer kept sucking on this horsey’s tail. I finally moved it out of the bed. I was worried some of those little tufts might choke him. But it was pretty funny to see.

/It’s so cute when we find them all cuddled together. They put Sawyer up higher in the crib so they stay out of each other’s faces.

/Kimball gets a bath from mom. He loves it. Can’t you tell? Maybe she needs to practice a little more.

/Sawyer gets a bath from dad. Sawyer was disappointed with the water level and decided to contribute. Unfortunately his sprinkler got away from him, and he only managed to soak the stack of blankets next to him (though he tried valiantly to share some with mom).

/Brinlee was so excited to get her bath that she peed all the way from the crib to the bathtub. She heard that dad is a better bather, so she requested him.

/Brinlee liked the sock idea too. I think we’re starting a trend.

/Last year Adam ordered stockings like this for us. Mine is red at the top and his is green. This year he ordered matching ones for the kids. Brinlee’s is red like mine and the boys’ match his. We hung them on their crib to replace the little name tags above their heads.

/We found Sawyer like this the other day. He likes to kick out of his swaddle. He’s obviously relaxed.

/One of the nurses made these cute hats for the kids for Thanksgiving. Sawyer kept drowning in his. While he was sleeping he didn’t care (in fact he probably liked that it blocked the light), but when he was awake he would panic, so we took it off. But how cute!

/Brinlee just looks so cute in her hat, and she never complained. She is learning at a young age that beauty requires sacrifices (This is just the beginning. Wait until she discovers heels and waxing).
