Well, the kids continue to be feisty and to fight their way forward. I did a quick five minute checkup on all three this morning and they were all resting peacefully.

/Brinlee and Kimball both came off their oxygen altogether today (Kimball’s doctor decided that since he liked to remove it from his nose and put it in his mouth so much that he would probably be ok without it). Sawyer is resting much more contentedly today and breathing on his own with much less oxygen help from the machine (down to 25 from 40 the night before). They have continued to provide him with pain medicine when he appears to be in pain. He also, for the first time, tolerated his tube feedings overnight (approximately 4ccs worth)! Probably because it was a special gift from Mom.

/All three of them came out from under the jaundice lights today and will have their sunglasses removed by the time we go upstairs in a few minutes for their 2 pm (Kimball and Sawyer) and 3 pm feedings! We should be able to get some pretty good pictures of them these days!

/Kimball also has done very well on his greatly increased feedings and is going to be getting even more food. If he is like his mother, he won’t have any problem packing away food (but unlike his mother, he’ll get fat from all the food and she remains thin in her non-pregnant days).Â

/Brinlee also has done well on her 3ccs of food and they are going to start increasing that today very quickly. She has, as the others, been on the “slow track” but will now be moving to the fast track due to her progress.

/As stated above, Sawyer is much more calm and is resting well. They say the babies comfort themselves and are more happy when they keep their hands near their faces and the knees tucked up. Brinlee and Kimball have been like that a lot but as stated before, Saywer likes to spread out. Today he has assumed much more of a fetal position.
