An Exciting Year

This year has definitely been a year of significant changes for April and I. We bought a house in May 2006 (April would say that we FINALLY bought a house) after renting for nearly three years. I’ll post some pictures of the house.

/We found out on April 18, 2006 that we were expecting not one, not two, but three children with a 40 week due date of December 20, 2006. Our bodies and minds are programmed with a lot of “expected” or relevant reactions to many of the experiences that we have in this life; however, being told that you are expecting triplets is not one of them. Thus: April cried, I laughed. How else could we react?

/Expecting triplets changes a lot of things in your life. April left her job at the beginning of August to slow down and give the kids the best environment to develop in. We bought a minivan in July to have a car that would actually be able to transport our new insta-family and all of the associated car seats and triplet strollers. We ended up splurging a bit on a Toyota Sienna XLE so that April would have the automatic doors.

/I also switched jobs this year from a job in external audit with a Big 4 accounting firm to working in the financial due diligence (transaction work in mergers/acquisitions) at another Big 4 firm. However, thankfully, this new job actually requires you to think instead of just following a workplan.

/So…a new job, a new house, three kids, April’s transition to stay-at-home mother instead of working professional, and a fancy new minivan really sum up the changes so far this year. Can life get any better?
