Fun with Gran, Granddad and Half the Family

So much has happened. We went to visit Gran and Granddad for a week while Aunt Nicki and Uncle Sam were in town. Then we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa for 2.5 weeks. Two days later Brinlee, Kimball and Sawyer started preschool. I’m going to make a few separate posts about it.

/Our visit with Aunt Nicki, Uncle Sam, Gran and Granddad was fun. The kids had lots of fun playing with cousins, aunts and uncles. We played with cousins at Aunt Tristi and Uncle Eric’s house, Uncle Leo and Aunt Amber’s house, and we played with our friends Drew, Jill and Zack at the park. One night we went to this great splash pad, but our kids hate moving water. This splash pad is ALL moving water. Spraying, flying, crazy water from above, below and all sides. They scouted the perimeter, but never went in the water. No kids have ever left a water playdate as dry as ours did. Nice work kids. I actually took the kids out of town BY MYSELF, which is the first time I’ve ever done that. Adam traveled for work that week, but was able to fly in Friday night and drive home with us Saturday afternoon.

/
/Since bored children are destructive children, the plan was to get up, get dressed and get out of the house.

/I took ths picture right before we left. Kimball is actually sitting IN the water table. Brinlee and Sawyer were in there with him, but when I got back with my camera they had already evacuated. They love this water table.

/We killed a few mornings at the park. Aunt Nicki was nice enough to push Caisen on the swing.

/
/Brinlee loved the swings, as is evident by the big grin on her face. She pretty much stayed on the swings the whole time.

/Uncle Sam giving Sawyer pushes. One day these kids are going to figure out how to pump their legs and keep the swing going.

/Kimball swinging. We had a hard time convincing them to take turns because swinging is so fun.

/
/We stopped for a snack. It’s hard work to swing and slide.

/Caisen was the only one who (briefly) braved the water. What a good example for his older siblings.

/Mommy couldn’t convince them to get in the water either.

/Brinlee couldn’t find her glasses, so she swiped Caisen’s. Fortunately, he didn’t mind.

/Don’t be fooled by those angelic faces. 30 seconds before this picture they were jumping off that pile of floor mats that are stacked on the hearth. They are determined to hurt themselves.

/
/Older cousins are great for all kinds of things, including teaching them to pull apart the floor mat and build houses.

/Kimball loves playing with the big kids. Actually, he thinks he is as big as they are.

/Why is Brinlee wearing socks on her hands? You’d have to ask her. She put them on.

/It was a pretty tight squeeze, but we made it down the slide together.

/Granddad has this old truck he likes to bounce around in and take trash to the dump. Every time we went out to the car, the kids begged to get in the truck, so on Saturday we arranged a tour. They were all over in around along among that truck. It was hot, but that didn’t stop them.

/
/Granddad, take good care of this truck because we want it when we turn 16.

/Brinlee spent most of her time going in and out of that window.

/A quick trip to Home Depot means that we have to ride the lawn mowers, although they call them motorcycles.
