Well, here is the first update on April and the kids, Brinlee, Kimball, and Sawyer. All are doing well. April is getting some good sleep (being able to lie on her back and actually breath is quite exciting for her). Just losing the babies, amniotic fluid, some excess blood and the placentas was probably close to 25 pounds off of her lungs/diaphram.

/I just had my first visit to the NICU (neo-natal intensive care unit) where the three are located. They are all breathing on their own and are all stable. They are each in little isolettes that help them maintain their body temperature so that they can dedicate all calories to growing. They will likely stay in the hospital 4-8 weeks, primarily as “feeders and growers” assuming no drastic changes. (FYI: Babies outside the womb learn and develop the same things on the same timeline as they would if they were in the womb. For example, the sucking motion used to feed is learned at about 36 weeks and really can’t be taught any earlier than that.)

/April’s vitals are good. Her blood pressure is still a little high so she is still on some medicine to that (as if with baby triplets at high her blood pressure is going to be low…).
