Eric’s and Leo’s families were both coming west to visit their in-laws, and they were going to overlap one weekend, so I asked my parents and Jonny and Vanessa to come that same weekend and we would bless Georgia. Mark and Cheri live here, so they made room on the calendar. Nicki and Sam weren’t able to come, unfortunately. We really missed them. The rest of us had a blast. I’m so glad everyone who could make it came. It flew by, but we were glad to be together.
We started with a cookout at our house on Friday just for my family.
Showing off my garden. Several of us are really into gardening, so there was lots to discuss, as always.
Gran and Granddad bought kites for all the grandkids. They had so much fun.
We had a barbecue and roasted hot dogs and s’mores over the fire pit. If you love samoa Girl Scout cookies and live near a Trader Joe’s, go buy their little coconut wafer cookies and use those instead of graham crackers. TO. DIE. FOR.
Good thing we have a huge yard for that many kites.
Bad thing we have a huge tree that eats kites.
Uncle Jonny helping Princess Brinlee with her kite.
Leo torturing Tyson (his kid, so it’s allowed).
Vanessa helping Caisen with his kite. Daisy calls Vanessa the orange girl.
Eric and I love to talk tomatoes.
Ashlee. (Behind her you can see they are digging a foundation on the lot next to ours. Finally, neighbors!)
Leo, Sawyer and Tyson checking out the chickens. I got a more attractive and safer coop.
Daisy Doll may have eaten an entire watermelon that evening.
On Sunday we had the baby blessing. Jonny is such a stinker. Vanessa had never been to our church, so his counsel to her was this:
“Don’t stare at the naked people. NEVER volunteer to be the sacrifice. And don’t try to pet the goat.” Only he could deliver that with a straight face. Fortunately his wife enjoys and understands his humor.
Georgia’s assigned color is yellow. Her middle name is Rose, thus a yellow rose cake. Isn’t this a beautiful cake? Our friend from home made this one for us too. Not only are her cakes beautiful, they taste AMAZING.
Huddled around the iPad looking at…something…
I would freeze time if I could. I’m certain that is what I was thinking when this picture was taken. Surrounded by my family holding this sweet baby. What could be better?
We didn’t do our hands the same on purpose, but I love this picture.
People say I look like a perfect mix of my parents.
Grandma and Grandpa with Adam.
Daddy and Daisy in their huddle.
All my kids piled on Landon. I love that my boys are wearing winter fleece pajama tops on July 1. And I love that Landon is such a great cousin.
