Today I was holding Kimball by himself. Since he wasn’t in my arms when I was talking about his dad last night (he was in the crib next to us), I decided to have the same talk with him, explaining why daddy has been so busy and how much he loves his babies and that he is working extra hard so he can take time off when they come home. The same thing happened as with Brinlee. When I mentioned Adam being gone, his face would crumple and his lip would trmble. When I talked about how much Adam loves him and the time he’ll spend at home, he would smile. It went back and forth like that as I spoke. The babies love their daddy (he’s so lovable, how could they not?), and they know what we are saying. I’m sure of it.

/Yesterday I noticed that the babies’ umbilical cord nubs were missing. When I mentioned it to the nurse she said, “Oh I’m sorry, did you want to save them?” Um, no. No we don’t want to keep those. I won’t be keeping their baby teeth either. The closest I’ll come to keeping biological matter is a locke of hair. I’m glad their belly buttons are healed though. It makes changing their diapers easier. Â

/The nurse practitioner ordered adding a thickening agent to my breastmilk. It will hopefully make it less likely to reflux. That should start with tonight’s feeds. Speaking of breastmilk, I am finally ahead of their needs! For a while they were increasing their feeds so fast that I was always a day behind. Now I’m ahead! I’m producing more than enough, and I hope to keep increasing my volume so I always have plenty.

/Only Kimball had episodes of bradycardia today. Sawyer’s caffeine was increased last night, and neither he nor Brinlee had episodes today. Kimball also had some good weight gain.
