Turning Seven with a New Tradition

Adam and I are big believers in experiences instead of things. This year we started something new. Brinlee Kimball and Sawyer got to go on a three-day trip to Southern Utah with Adam as their birthday present. They got gifts from grandparents, but from us they got a trip. Adam wanted the whole family to go, but let’s be honest, no one would have had fun on that trip with a five-month-old baby. Or a three-year-old sister. Since I’m finally 100% breastfeeding Georgia (Squeeeeeeeee! I can’t even tell you how much this means to me), we couldn’t leave her with someone, so Adam took them on his own. They left Friday after school and even got to miss school on Monday.

There was a lot of food.

That looks a lot like cake and ice cream.

They had so much fun.

I heard all about it in triplicate.

They liked discovering things like…this…thing…

And that animal hiding in that hole…

And cacti…

And puddles…

I heard A WHOLE LOT about the dance party on the stage they discovered.

Please tell me it is obvious that my children dress themselves. Brinlee loves this dress. I mean she wears it in some form just about every day. In the winter she layers with a long sleeve t-shirt and jeans. She has her own sense of fashion and I let her embrace it. I just hope that it’s obvious to others that I didn’t choose this outfit for her.

I wasn’t there so I can’t really narrate the trip. All I know is they had a blast.
