Type 4 moment: I am an excellent trip planner. I research extensively, prepare a possible agenda (with room and flexibility for needed adjustments), find good places to eat in all the areas we will be in each day, buy tickets in advance for anything that allows it, and document the trip once it is over.
We took three of our kids on a birthday trip to San Francisco. These are some of my favorite travel shoes, though I’d never wear them in real life. I still can’t decide how I feel about this polka dot blouse and whether it is too cute for me. The turquoise cardigan is also iffy in color. Turquoise is tricky, and it is my favorite color. It often has white added to it. If it is a pure blue and a pure green combined, then it is T4 appropriate.
We climbed down to Point Reyes lighthouse and back up again. We also went to Stinson Beach and Muir Woods. This was perfect for the day’s activities. Another turquoise item. I still love it, and I will continue to wear it until it feels wrong, if it ever does.
More sightseeing. I had my sleeves rolled up to meet the sweater, but it got cold and I rolled them down. I choose comfort first. Always. I hate to be cold. Gingham is perfectly type 4, as is the bright red cardigan, dark wash jeans. The gray in the shoes isn’t type 4, but these are travel shoes that are excellent for wet or hiking conditions.
Aside from the round toe of the flats, this is a very T4/3 outfit. The neck has a zipper detail that I love. I’m still trying to figure out how to wear a cardigan without venturing into S1 territory. Pointy toe flats would have helped.
Back home from the trip, today was a very active day catching up on life, and this was comfortable and great for getting stuff done.
Gingham worn three ways. First in a very preppy way with the cardigan, beads and flats. Love orange and navy together. I needed some sharper S3 or squarer type 4 accessories.
Next all layered up and cozy with leggings, boots and a cardigan. I love this gingham shirt and have worn it a lot the last couple of years.
Last in a more outdoorsy way with the vest instead of the cardigan. We were outside using our fire pit for a small family party. The vest outfit won. In the two years that I’ve owned this vest, this is the first time I’ve worn it. I can’t decide if I will wear it and whether or not I should keep it.
